Empire Jazz is an all-star project performing some music based on the "Star Wars" sequel, it was produced and arranged by bassist Ron Carter and features Ron Carter on bass, Bob James on acoustic piano, Billy Cobham on drums, Ralph MacDonald on percussion and Hubert Laws on flute, plus a horn section. The LP was released in 1980 on RSO Records.
